We have now lived in Dubai well over a year. Dubai 'bashing' seems to be a popular sport among many ex-pats, but personally I love it.

OK, there are things here that drive an ex-pat crazy but on the whole many of the laws and customs make excellent sense.

Where else could you accidentally leave the rear door of your car open whilst doing the supermarket run, with all your shopping on view and come back to find it all still there?

Where else can u sunbathe in the scorching midday sun and then cool off with a couple of hours skiing?

After a very early start to the day, we were sat watching TV and waiting for our take-away to arrive when it struck us...

We are living in one of the best developed areas of Dubai, with amazing views of the Persian Gulf and an amzing arrray of shops, coffee-houses, restaurants (from plain burger to haute cusine) and even hotel bars and we are stuck inside watching the boob tube.. and now as the Middle East winter draws in the weather becomes cooler (unlike in the UK where getting cooler means getting COLD!) and more enjoyable.

What a waste, no more take-aways inside, from now on we go enjoy the evening sun, and take in the views from the Walk.
